About Ruth our Funeral Director

Ruth Healey has been looking after loved ones and conducting funerals for over twenty years, working in the funeral business since 2000.

For Ruth, this is not just a job – it is a calling. For twelve months prior to setting up Legacy Funeral Care, Ruth took some time out and realised that she needed to continue to do what her passion was: being there for families during their hardest moments, and especially the families of the community to which Ruth cares so deeply for.

Legacy Funeral Care was officially established in November 2020, and has since grown to a brilliant team comprising of Emma (Funeral Service Operative) and bearers: John, Paul, Andrew, Dave and Roger.

As a fully qualified embalmer (2007, MBIE) and Funeral Director, Ruth provides personal care for your loved ones each step of the way, and helps to guide families and coordinate the ceremony of thanks and remembrance too; she is there for each family 24 hours a day.

A proud Mum of three, and with a granddaughter too, Ruth knows that family is everything.

Outside of Legacy, she enjoys being out and about in the community, socialising, visiting new places and expanding her knowledge of different funeral traditions from across the world. So, she is a local face you will undoubtedly recognise from around the area.

When our mum died recently my brother and myself only considered Legacy Funeral Care as our chosen supplier as I had personal experience of her dedication and empathy when she officiated at the death of my late husband some years ago. She impressed me then and recent word of mouth confirmed to us that no other provider was needed. The day was very emotional for the family and friends but Ruth was a rock and guided us through with dignity and respect. Cannot praise Legacy highly enough, absolutely first rate.

If youve got to this review page you have found the correct one. Ruth and Legacy Funeral Care could not have done better for Mum and gave her the perfect send off. Everything from the moment we had to make that heartbreaking call right through to her being laid to rest in the cemetery could not have gone better. Its not often you can say a coffin looked beautiful but it did. Dont hesitate to use Ruth and Legacy you will be lovingly cared for.

After the sudden loss of our much loved son and brother Neil, 💔 we chose Ruth and her wonderful staff at legacy to take him on his final journey, I do not have enough words to say about this lovely caring woman and her staff who where both so very thoughtful yet so very professional, they made such a heartbreaking time much easier to cope with, I will never forget what they did for my family with the respect and guidance they showed us all we thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for what you did, and going that extra mile to show compassion, empathy and kindness ❤️
